Once your piece is graded, it receives a label and a certificate. Here's how to read them.
The grade
Your item's overall grade summarizes its condition against our grading standards. The scale runs from everyday circulated condition up to the very top tier reserved for pristine pieces with exceptional provenance.
Authenticity
The label records the item's authenticity status — whether it has been verified as an original production piece and how that determination was reached.
Certificate number
Every certified item carries a unique certificate number. It links to a permanent certificate page in the archive that shows the item's images, grade, and provenance — proof you can share with buyers or fellow collectors.
Provenance
Where known, we record the item's history and chain of ownership. Strong provenance supports authenticity and adds to a piece's significance.
